CURE Zimbabwe + Tebow Care Center

In Partnership with

CURE International

TTF helps provide life-changing orthopedic surgeries for children in Zimbabwe who are in desperate need. Tebow Care Center is an extension of CURE Children's Hospital of Zimbabwe and helped almost triple the number of beds available for children recovering from life-changing surgeries. This addition allows for more surgeries to be performed, and ultimately for more children to receive healing.

Why It Matters

The Problem

In Zimbabwe, there are only 1.5 surgeons available for every 100,000 people—compared to the 7 accessible surgeons per 100,000 people in the United States. With that level of scarcity of surgeons in Zimbabwe, children's injuries are often left untreated, leaving them vulnerable, in pain, and on the fringes of society. Due to the lack of access to surgical care, countless children are living with treatable disabilities or cannot receive proper medical treatment for their orthopedic injuries. Additionally, even when medical care is available, many children are not able to recover properly due to the limited number of hospital beds available in the country.

The Solution

In partnership with CURE International, the Tim Tebow Foundation works to bring Faith, Hope and Love to children with profound medical needs by providing life-changing orthopedic surgeries. Through our partnership, the Tebow Care Center was built in Zimbabwe, a 40-bed children's unit that will bring hope and healing to children recovering from surgery. CURE Children’s Hospital of Zimbabwe is the country's first-ever hospital to provide orthopedic care for disabilities such as clubfoot, bowed legs, and knock knees to children regardless of their economic status.
