In Haiti, many children experience neglect, abandonment, and trafficking because of the lack of access to basic needs families require to thrive in their community. For children who were born with disabilities in Haiti, at times, they are seen as cursed and abandoned in hospitals and bus stations. In their darkest hour of need, families who do not have access to job stability, education, and medical care abandon so many children, especially those with special needs. These precious children are often seen as without value and unworthy of love.
We are fighting for the vulnerable children in Haiti as we walk alongside the Hands & Feet Project, Haiti Deaf Academy, and myLIFEspeaks to provide family-based care to children in their darkest hour of need. We have helped build ten Faith, Hope and Love (FHL) Homes and continue to support these homes. Through these family-style homes, we provide holistic care and an inclusive environment for children. Children are also offered transformational skills through education, Bible studies, and a loving community that leads them to embrace their true identity: valued and worthy of God’s love.
