Robyn’s W15H
Hello October 3rd, 2015Share This Story
When you encounter Robyn Clarke, it is clear to see the beauty and strength of her spirit. Last year, as a spectator in attendance, Robyn had the unique opportunity to talk with Tim briefly at the Tim Tebow Foundation’s 2015 Celebrity Golf Classic. Little did Robyn know, her kind heart and sweet soul are visible to more than just those who know her best…
Robyn’s Story
Born with cerebral palsy, Robyn has used a walker since she was just three years old. “She has been a fighter since birth . . . She is always positive and has a never-ending smile. She is more concerned with helping others and how they feel than with worrying about her own needs and limitations,” said Robyn’s mother. As an avid writer, older sister and cherished daughter of God, Robyn has been able to influence the lives of the many people she encounters through her positivity. However, as Robyn has grown, she has gained the ability to see herself through the eyes of a loving God, of which Robyn shared, “I used to think that my CP made me different in the worst way . . . I have come to realize that my differences don’t make me strange, they make me beautiful.”
Robyn has been a fan of Florida Gator football for as long as she can remember. She shares stories of growing up watching the Gators with her family and being inspired by the team’s successes. She specifically remembers the first time she watched Tim carry the football for a first down. “From that moment on, I was his biggest fan,” said Robyn.
In that fleeting moment at this past Celebrity Golf Classic, Robyn shared with Tim how she’d recently been struggling with people staring at her walker. Tim encouraged her by reminding her, “You’re special, God loves you, and you don’t have to worry about anything else.” Robyn carries these words with her for confidence and encouragement when she encounters challenges, knowing that Tim is now one of her biggest fans.
Robyn’s W15H Experience
This weekend is the Tim Tebow Foundation’s third official W15H experience of the year. Robyn and her family started off the weekend in Atlanta, GA, with a special dinner at The Capital Grille with Tim. Friday morning, Robyn and her family had the opportunity to explore the College Football Hall of Fame with all-access passes and an experience catered specifically to her love of the Florida Gators!
Friday afternoon, Robyn traveled to Athens, GA, where she was treated to a day at the spa and gifts to make her feel loved and special! Robyn’s W15H continues today as she gets to be a part of the live set of SEC Nation with Tim. Following SEC Nation, Robyn will watch all the action as the Georgia Bulldogs take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. Our prayer is for Robyn’s experience this weekend to give her a glimpse of how truly cherished she is!
