Jonathan’s Story: From Vulnerable Baby to Thriving 9-Year-Old

HAITI, May 2025—Seeing Jonathan's bright smile and boundless energy today, you'd have no idea the heartbreaking challenges he faced during his first year of life. 

In 2016, Jonathan was left behind at a hospital in Jacmel, Haiti, as a baby. Then, when hospital workers went on strike, he was abandoned a second time with no one to care for him. Malnourished, dehydrated, and neglected, he was barely clinging to life.

Thankfully, myLIFEspeaks, one of TTF's incredible ministry partners, stepped in and working closely with Haitian child services, brought Jonathan into their care and provided him with the medical interventions and love he desperately needed, ultimately saving his life. His transformation was dramatic and miraculous!

Once he regained strength, Jonathan found a second chance at life in one of our Faith, Hope and Love (FHL) homes, a myLIFEspeaks family home supported by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Today, he is a thriving 9-year-old who loves riding his bike, playing soccer, and singing in his church choir. He lives with his loving parents, Markenson and Gertha, and his four siblings.
