Blaine’s W15H
Hello November 7th, 2015Share This Story
Two months ago, we asked our supporters through Facebook for prayers for Blaine. Though she was in remission from her second battle with leukemia, and the tests were returning more promising with each visit to the doctor, late this summer Blaine encountered a new battle as her health took an unexpected turn for the worse…
Blaine’s Story
Blaine came down with pneumonia on the day they would have been celebrating her last day of oral chemotherapy medication and was rushed to the PICU for respiratory distress. Thanks to your prayers and God’s grace, she was able to overcome her respiratory distress and was released from the hospital after a long, 52-day stay filled with highs and lows. This latest trial was just another example of Blaine’s steadfast faith and her ability to fight.
Now, having overcome leukemia twice and the health scares that come with a battered immune system, Blaine is on the mend and trying to find the new norm as she returns to school. Blaine and her mom, Vanessa, have encountered so many hurdles together, but their faith in God’s plan has never wavered. “Blaine chose the verse Philippians 4:13, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,’ which helped carry her through some of the really hard days,” shared Vanessa.
This weekend, Blaine is headed to Oxford, MS, for a weekend filled with incredible one-of-a-kind experiences. “Spending time with Tim Tebow this weekend is so exciting,” said Blaine. “He is an inspiration because his faith in Christ has touched so many people. He works hard to bring joy to others and is a reminder that God’s plan for our lives is always bigger than our own.”
Blaine’s W15H Experience
This weekend, the Tim Tebow Foundation is hosting its fifth official W15H experience of the year for Blaine in Oxford, MS. The fun-filled weekend started off with a lunch and special one-on-one time with Tim, followed by a relaxing and rejuvenating day at the spa! Today, Blaine and her mom received behind-the-scenes passes to the set of SEC Nation where she received special VIP treatment and tickets to the Ole Miss vs. Arkansas game.
In typical TTF W15H fashion, there will be personalized and special surprises along the way to make Blaine feel loved and truly special. We hope the time with Tim and the outpouring of Faith, Hope and Love will help Blaine take the next steps in finding her new normal at home and in school as she continues to recover from her battles with leukemia.
