B Blog Header no text.jpgAt TTF, we know that every life is precious to God. We embrace the call to fight for the world’s Most Vulnerable People, the MVP—including the babies being abandoned daily in South Africa.

JOHANNESBURG, August 2024—In Johannesburg alone, an estimated three babies are left every single day—in dumpsters, on the side of the road, in sewers, and even in toilets. The country’s baby abandonment crisis is a complex issue that stems from poverty, lack of resources and education, and desperation. Many families living in South Africa struggle to provide for basic needs like food and shelter. In some cases, mothers desperately feel they have no choice but to abandon their precious  babies.

After learning about these statistics and about the heartbreaking situations these families find themselves in, we wanted to do everything we could to rescue these precious babies, empower families, and fight baby abandonment.

TTF has come alongside our Ministry Partner, Impact Africa, to operate four TTF Promise Homes in and around Johannesburg, South Africa. These homes provide babies with safety, top-level care, nutrition, health care, wellness, and the opportunity for a forever family. The loving TTF Impact Baby Rescue team provides around-the-clock care to these precious image-bearers as they work to reunify them with their family or get them ready for adoption.

C Group.jpgIn addition to Promise Homes, we built a brand new TTF Impact Campus—which consists of a school, counseling center, and baby safe—to help vulnerable children, mothers, and families in need of Faith, Hope and Love. Located near Johannesburg, the school will serve as many as 200+ children each year, and the counseling center will provide life-affirming resources, crisis counseling, and parental training to young mothers who may have unplanned pregnancies.

As a last resort, the campus also has a baby safe where mothers can safely and anonymously surrender their babies to the loving Impact Baby Rescue Team.

E Group.jpgSo far, across our four TTF Promise Homes, 24 babies have been adopted, six babies have been placed in foster care, and 24 babies are currently being cared for! These are 54 precious lives and image-bearers who can now have the opportunity to grow up and be who God created them to be! Praise the Lord!

In February 2024, Demi was able to visit our new TTF Impact Campus and one of our TTF Promise Homes! She spent time with several of our incredible staff members at the TTF Promise Home and with Impact Africa Founder, Rich Franzen, who testified to the incredible impact being made through our collaboration.D Photo.jpg

“Thanks to the Tim Tebow Foundation, we are empowered to be in front of women every day with the literal life-saving message of the gospel and life alternatives for newborn babies facing harm. With the help and partnership of the Tim Tebow Foundation, we are witnessing babies go from death to life as they are adopted into forever families,” Rich said.

We are so grateful to work alongside Impact Africa to bring Faith, Hope and Love to vulnerable babies and families in South Africa in their darkest hour of need. Thank you to our TTF Giving Family for stepping into a mission that is changing lives and helping give life a chance!
