Jacksonville, FL (November 12, 2013) – Hunter, a 16-year-old from Jacksonville, FL, has faithfully followed Tim Tebow and his football career since he was a player at Nease High School. He can recall and recite nearly all of Tim’s memorable plays and speeches. Hunter met Tim briefly at the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Annual Celebrity Golf Classic. Since then, Hunter has been referred through Dreams Come True of Jacksonville for an official W15H experience. Today Hunter is out in Los Angeles for his trip which includes one-on-one time with Tim, a NFL Studio tour with Scott Hanson, a day at Disneyland, a private tour of Dodger Stadium and a personalized shopping trip to South Coast Plaza.
Hunter was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome when he began to turn blue five days after birth. Doctors immediately ran tests and found that the left side of his heart had not correctly developed. Hunter has undergone three surgeries, a heart catheterization and eventually will need a heart transplant. Hunter has handled all of this with great courage, faith and humor. When asked why he chose to meet Tim for his dream, Hunter explained, “He’s a great guy and has taught me so many things off the field…it’s about meeting someone who’s inspired me and who’s made me a better person without even trying.”
The Tim Tebow Foundation W15H program fulfills the dreams of children, like Hunter, who dream of meeting Tim Tebow. In addition to meeting Tim, Hunter’s W15H experience will include a special W15H gift package containing exclusive W15H luggage, official W15H t-shirts, a Nike duffle bag, a copy of Tim’s book Through My Eyes, Florida Gators: 2008 National Championship book, a personalized Bible and more.
