Human Trafficking is an evil that is growing and generates an estimated $150 billion per year through the enslavement of close to 50 million people worldwide. Many experts in Anti-Human Trafficking believe there are not enough beds or safe homes available, even if 10% of victims were rescued in the United States. It's estimated there are around 2,000 available beds across the nation, yet there are hundreds of thousands of victims. To that end, it isn’t just beds needed to care for survivors of human trafficking. Safe Homes with extensive and excellent trauma-informed care, holistic approaches, and reunification programs are needed to help women who have experienced the evil of human trafficking. It takes a community of consistent love and care to help these women rebuild their lives and re-integrate with society.
Her Song provides long-term residential care and trauma-informed programming to help survivors heal and become self-sufficient. While Her Song helps survivors coming out of trafficking situations with immediate physical needs like a home, the program offers much more. Through a holistic approach, skilled and compassionate staff members guide each woman on her journey to healing and freedom. Survivors receive counseling, life skills, and employment and educational opportunities, but most of all, they are given unconditional love and introduced to the God who loves them and offers them true inside-out transformation. Her Song currently operates emergency care and safe homes in Jacksonville, Florida; Columbus, Ohio; and Chattanooga, Tennessee. These safe homes currently have the capacity to care for approximately two dozen women each year as they go through the 2–3-year restorative program.
