Human trafficking is a growing global evil that generates an estimated $150 billion each year, enslaving nearly 50 million people worldwide through crimes such as sex trafficking, labor trafficking, domestic servitude, and criminal exploitation. In the United States alone, the Global Slavery Index estimates that over one million victims are believed to be trapped in exploitation, yet resources for long-term healing remain extremely limited. According to the Institute for Survivor Care, there are only about 2,000 beds nationwide dedicated to long-term residential care for survivors, meaning that if every victim exited exploitation today, less than 1% would have access to the restorative care needed to rebuild their lives. Escaping exploitation is only the first step toward freedom—survivors often face deep trauma, broken relationships, and significant barriers to stability. What is urgently needed are not just beds, but safe homes that provide trauma-informed care, holistic support, and a community of consistent love and restoration where women can begin the long journey of healing and rebuilding their lives.
Her Song exists to help survivors move from survival to lasting freedom through Outreach, Care Coordination, and Long-Term Residential Survivor Care. Through outreach, Her Song equips communities and service providers to recognize trafficking while connecting directly with survivors in jails, prisons, and local communities. Through care coordination, the team walks alongside survivors, helping them navigate complex resources and take their next steps toward safety and stability. For women ready to begin a deeper healing journey, Her Song’s long-term residential program provides safe housing and trauma-informed, holistic care designed to restore the whole person. Survivors receive opportunities to strengthen basic life skills, counseling, educational and employment support, and the guidance of compassionate staff who walk with them every step of the way. Most importantly, women are welcomed into a community where they are deeply valued, loved unconditionally, and introduced to the hope and transformation found in Christ. Her Song currently operates safe homes and survivor programs in Jacksonville, Florida; Columbus, Ohio; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and the Capital District of New York, helping women find healing, stability, and the opportunity to build a new future.
