Children with special needs are often marginalized in developing nations like Mexico, while also suffering at the hands of poverty and inequality. Because of the economic situation, families living with disabilities often do not have access to the resources they need to care for a child with special needs. And due to this lack of support in their journey, families often feel a sense of abandonment and loneliness while trapped in a cycle of generational poverty.
The Twelve Stones Community Center, in Partnership with Back2Back Ministries, provides comprehensive care like therapies, sensory rooms, parenting classes, and medical clinics for orphaned and vulnerable children and families in Mexico. A multi-disciplinary team of medical professionals works to fulfill a five-point child development plan – spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social. Our hope is that through their efforts, children who were once trapped in endless cycles of poverty and generational dysfunction will grow to become sustainable independent adults, dependent on Jesus, and interdependent in their community.
