Every year, an estimated 2,000 young adults in Colombia age out of the child welfare system with little to no support. Without a trusted support system, learning how to thrive independently or successfully transition into adulthood can feel nearly impossible for anyone; this, combined with the high crime and violence rates in Colombia, makes young women who age out of the welfare system particularly susceptible to an even more challenging transition. Studies show that children aging out of the welfare system are at an extreme risk of experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking, mental illness, and substance abuse.
In 2023, the Tim Tebow Foundation and All God's Children International partnered to open the AGCI & TTF House of Hope in Colombia. While our ultimate hope for all children in the system is that they are placed in loving families who support them on their journey to adulthood, when this is not possible, the AGCI & TTF House of Hope steps in to fill this gap. The House of Hope serves as a safe refuge encouraging the potential of young women aging out of the welfare system in Colombia.
This family-style home provides more than just basic needs — it provides holistic, trauma-informed care rooted in God's love. In this home, young women are equipped to pursue higher education, find employment, discover their identity in Christ, heal from past traumas, and move toward living and thriving independently.
Residents at the AGCI & TTF House of Hope are loved and cared for in ways that allow them to believe — many for the first time — that they are seen, loved, and worthy of a bright future.
