Child Abduction Case Involving a 13-year-old Girl

This child abduction case involving a 13-year-old girl started online. The perpetrator convinced this teenager that she would have a better life if she went with him. This case is, unfortunately, quite common. Vulnerable children can easily be targeted and deceived into forming a relationship with the perpetrator through a process called “grooming.” Over time, this can escalate to the child meeting them in person and, in some cases, agreeing to run away with them.


We are grateful that with the support of our partner, the National Child Protection Task Force (NCPTF), law enforcement was able to bring her to safety.
