ABANDONED BABY, SAVED: Maureen, an auntie at one of our TTF Promise Homes, tells the story of Hope—a baby abandoned outside the front gate who was found by the TTF Impact Baby Rescue team just in time.

“I thank God that at least we were there...on time to save Hope,” Maureen recalls.

Unfortunately, many babies in South Africa don’t have as fortunate an outcome. An estimated 3-4 babies are abandoned every day in Johannesburg alone…sometimes in trash piles, dumpsters, and even toilets. The baby abandonment crisis is a tragic symptom of poverty, lack of resources and education, and desperation.

Thankfully, Hope’s story had a different outcome, and she was rescued before the unimaginable happened.

Baby Hope's story is a testament to her name—a story of great hope for many babies who face a similar circumstance. We pray to reach more lives through our partnership with Impact Africa as we advocate, care, nurture, and protect these precious babies.
