Through victim outreach, Her Song staff seek to build relationships and walk alongside women affected by human trafficking and exploitation as they discover their purpose and heal.
There are many barriers survivors face that keep them from seeking help on their own. Between threats of physical violence, emotional abuse and fear of prosecution, survivors are often afraid to reach out and access resources that are readily available for them. Shockingly, statistics show 90 percent of women who are in jail have experienced human trafficking or exploitation. Many women don’t know that they are survivors of human trafficking and exploitation and aren’t always identified by law enforcement.
Through outreach, staff seeks to meet victims where they’re at in their greatest hour of need whether that be through visiting women on the streets and in jail or connecting with victims through Her Song’s Hope Line. Through street outreach efforts, staff bring women resources such as backpacks filled with basic toiletries, clothes, and Bibles, all while seeking to build relationships and minister through prayer. By visiting jails and prisons, staff has the opportunity to mentor and walk alongside women as they discover their purpose and heal. Anyone who is affected by trafficking and exploitation can call the Her Song Hope Line to get connected with a staff member who will help guide them and coordinate access to resources.
